Tai Cheong Bakery Singapore located conveniently at Takashimaya's basement level is branch of the famous Bakery in Hong Kong, famous especially for its Signature Egg tart in Hong Kong.
They have two stores at Takashimaya, one selling cha chann teng's main dishes, another is the bakery store which focuses on the Signature egg tart and polo bun.
This round, I got to try this food with @ck.chai and we had scrambled egg toast stack with chicken chop, it's like Chinese-western fusion as the base of the dish is served with cream of mushroom sauce. Topped with crispy chicken chop below the toast and finished it with scrambled egg as presentation.
We also had Noodle Soup, Three Eggs & Luncheon Meat. I'm kind of impressed by the skill and effort of the egg presentation on top of the soup. It's 3 egg yolk on the same white base.
Tai Cheong Bakery was started in 1954 by egg tart master Au Yeung's uncle who later handed down the business to Au Yeung. After taking over the bakery, Au Yeung pioneered the cookie crust for egg tarts, refining several other recipes.
Last but not least, their egg tarts come with smooth bright yellow egg custard, with external crisp skin.
According to many media, Tai Cheong Bakery has the Best Egg Tarts in Hong Kong and is a must-eats while you travel to Hong Kong. The good news is, you can save your air ticket and try this cha cheen teng egg tarts, polo bun and other Tai Cheong's popular dishes here in Singapore.
