There is a Classic-looking Restaurant in a Shophouse along Desker Road called Allo, they offer both indoor and outdoor dining in a Modern English-French setting with a touch of rustic charm.
Chef Andrew dishes out French food, inspired by his authentic creations. He's all into perfecting and shares his cooking wisdom with the team. Starting from the bottom, he worked hard and became an expert in European cuisine. Now, every dish reflects his dedication and skills. If you love French cuisine, come and give him some support and enjoy some delicious eats at Allo.
The best flavour of the day was expected to come from the Main dish, but I have to say, the Lobster Bisque left such an impression that it overshadowed the Main dishes.
I absolutely love this Lobster Bisque because it's incredibly fragrant, and with just one sip, you can taste the freshness of the soup & ingredients in it. The rich and creamy flavours bring a burst of freshness that I can't get enough of. I'm totally indulging in this soup.
The appetizer, Warm Oven Truffled Camembert might seem simple, but the mix of truffle and Camembert cheese is fantastic. They balance each other perfectly, and when you take a bite, the cheese just melts in your mouth with that rich, subtle truffle flavor. It's a tasty combo!
I also got the Foie Gras Terrine, and compared to my past experiences with Foie Gras appetizers, this one is so much more thick and fatty. If you like your Foie Gras with a little bouncy fat and mixed with sweet taste of fig, this dish is spot-on.
I gotta mention, that their appetizers are pretty generous, I'm halfway full just from the starter. Haha!
In French, Confit de Canard also means Duck Confit is mainly a classic French bistro dish. I was eating with a friend who is a foodie as well and her selection was Duck Confit with Pomme Purée & Orange Balsamic Glaze.
I ordered the Baked Miso Marinated Cod with Carrot Puree & Seasonal Vegetables as my main dish and its vibrant food presentation and a large piece of intact cod fish skin impressed me, it is so nicely laid out. The carrots and its puree give an extra splash of vibrantness to the dish. The fish is subtle in taste and soft.
I was hoping to taste Earl Gray Infused Creme Brulee but it was sold out. It must be really popular to be out of stock! Without any regrets, we went for the Valrhona Dark Chocolate Feuillantine Cake, and it's definitely a MUST-TRY!
The restaurant is just a short stroll from Mustafa, making it super convenient for a day of shopping and dining. Plus, they've got this Value-for-Money Weekday Set Lunch Deal. Grab a set with Tomato Soup, La Pasta Main, and Desserts starting from only $15.90++. It's available from Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 3pm.
