Best Char Siew in Singapore: MUST-TRY Fook Kin's Caramelized Char Siew

When it comes to food that leaves a lasting impression, it’s the kind of dish that’s irresistibly tasty, melts in your mouth, and touches your heart. One such dish that immediately comes to mind is the Caramelized Char Siew at Fook Kin. Trust me, this is a MUST-TRY—no, it’s a MUST-MUST-MUST TRY! I kid you not, this dish is a game changer. From the moment you take your first bite, you'll understand why I can't stop raving about it.



While Fook Kin offers a variety of other meats that are equally tender and delicious, the Caramelized Char Siew truly stands out. The melt-in-your-mouth texture and the perfect balance of sweetness and savory goodness elevate it to a whole new level. I couldn't keep this gem to myself, so I’m sharing it with you! It’s simply too good to miss.


In addition to the Char Siew, my family and I had the pleasure of savoring other incredible dishes. The Crackling Roast Pork was wonderfully crispy, and the Charcoal Roast Duck (boneless) offered two distinct flavors: Dang Gui and Ginger Plum Sauce. My parents leaned towards the Ginger Plum, while I found myself enjoying the Dang Gui, which had a beautiful depth of flavor.



We also tried the White Surf Clams in Savory Tonkotsu Broth Bee Hoon, which was a comforting and satisfying dish, as well as Stir-Fried Kang Kong with Garlic and Sweet & Sour Pork Gems, both of which paired wonderfully with the rest of the meal.



Beyond the food, I was also really impressed by the atmosphere. The interior of Fook Kin is thoughtfully designed, offering a cozy and welcoming vibe that enhances the dining experience. It’s a great setting to enjoy a meal and unwind.
