Spanish Korean Fusion Food in Singapore: Bancheria at Beach Road

I came with a casual heart and an open mind, just hoping for a nice meal, but I ended up being really impressed.

What I didn’t anticipate, however, was how genuinely impressed I would be by the experience. From the moment the first dish arrived, it was clear that each item on the menu had been crafted with care, attention, and a touch of personality. Every plate felt like it had its own story, almost as if it were the star of the day.

Among the dishes that left a lasting impression were the Smoked Spanish Anchovies, which offered a delightful smoky depth that lingered on the palate, and the Galician Style Mentalko Scallops, cooked to perfection with a tender, buttery texture that practically melted in your mouth.

The Paprika Fried Chicken Wings were a triumph of crunch and flavor—crispy yet juicy, with a seasoning that hit all the right notes.

Then there was the Wagyu Rib Fingers Galbi with Kimchi Leek Salad, an incredibly flavorful dish that balanced richness with freshness, leaving you satisfied without feeling weighed down. Each bite reminded me of the thoughtfulness behind the menu, where flavor, texture, and presentation all worked in harmony.

The Banchan Platter was another highlight. It wasn’t just visually stunning—it was a celebration of variety and creativity. With nine different types ranging from Spring Onion Kimchi and Cauliflower White Kimchi to surprising delights like Yuzu Sprite Pickled Lotus Root and Burnt Corn Gochujang with Korean Fish Cake, there was something new to discover with every bite.

And the best part? You can refill it up to three times, giving you the freedom to savor your favorites at your own pace without feeling rushed. The Banchan Platter was absolutely photogenic, and I loved the warm, communal vibe it brought to the table.

To complement the meal, my friend and I sampled the Fizz Kiss (green apple, honey, lime, soda) and the Berry Breeze (blueberry, yuzu, honey, soda). Both drinks were light, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser between bites.

Dessert added a playful and unexpected twist. We decided to experiment with their homemade honey—which comes in a variety of intriguing flavors like garlic, barley, corn, peppermint, and spice—originally meant to accompany Hotteok. Curiosity got the better of us, and we even drizzled it over churros. The honey was extraordinary: delicate, floral, and uniquely sweet, it transformed each bite into something far more memorable than we anticipated.

This was a delightful surprise—we got to spin and choose the honey ourselves, creating a fun and unique experience.

For anyone craving Korean, Spanish, or inventive fusion flavors, make sure to drop by Bancheria for a memorable meal.
