Taste of Local Fusion Delicacies in the North: Citrus by the Pool

If you’re hoping to discover the bold combination of Western cuisine and local delicacies dishes, you’ll be able to taste the best of both world here at Citrus by the Pool.

Citrus by the Pool is started in 2013 and is located at Woodlands Swimming Complex. Seeing a lack of chillout places in North, the owner decided to bring the café experience to the residential estates, offering accessibility, relaxing ambience and good food.

It is pretty common to find fusion food dishes in and around Singapore. However, not all food goes well or taste good altogether. Join Citrus by the Pool celebrating National Day with Local fragrant and taste with their seasonal menu from 8th July to 31st October 2019. It takes an innovative chef to turn favourite local dishes into something magnificent.

"This is Home Truly" because you can order some Chilli Crab Sliders from here. It's softshell crab in  local tasty chilli crab sauce wrapped with Man Tou. It's crispy at the same time soft and juicy, this is my favourite of the day!

If you're a milkshake lover, you can also enjoy your meals along with Citrus by the Pool's Mighty Milkshakes...

Not only does the Milkshake looks aesthetic good for photographs, they taste pretty sweet and awesome too. I will suggest 1 Milkshake per two person if you're not big eater, especially when you are drinking the milk shake along with main dishes.

Other than their signature Milkshake, some of the MUST TRY dishes are:
1 – Chilli Crab Sliders
2 – Laksa Pasta
3 – Big Boss Burger (served with cajun fries)
4 – Beef Rendang Baked Rice
5 – Pandan Panna Cotta (My 2nd fav of the day!)

It's not my first time trying out Laksa Pasta. This is one that you should not judge by its cover. This Laksa pasta dish has some very special fragrant in the dish, one of  its ingredients is actually mixing curry flavours into it.

While you step into this retro-themed space decked with full height glass windows and cosy fairy lights hanging from exposed wooden beams, with its fairy lighting in the night... makes all food photographs turn out splendid.

Big Boss Burger served like a boss. It's a super huge portion burger for big-eaters or lovey dovey couples that would like to share it together and get more food varieties on the table. Big Boss Burger comes with delicious and juicy beef and mutton patties dipped well in satay sauce before served. I'm pretty impressed with it because I have never like onions in burgers but I love and missed the onion stacks so much now. The beef and mutton patties is surprisingly it's being made soft and tender. Definitely it's a MUST-TRY!

Next, we have something for the Beef Rendang lovers! Here goes; Beef Rendang Baked Rice.

Oven baked and topped with mozzarella cheese with rich and tasty Beef Rendang on the inside. This is great for both beef, rendang and cheese lovers.

Last but not least, this simple and sweet dessert Pandan Panna Cotta is my 2nd favourite of the day. It's really unique and you should try too!

The restaurant seats up to 70 people indoors, suitable for large group /  family gathering, parties and private events.
