Barley Old Cucumber Soup


Number of Servings: 4-6pax

The traditional way to cook by Stove:

What to prepare?
1. 150g Pork Ribs
2. 400g Old Cucumber
3. 1x piece Dried Cuttlefish
4. 1x Honey Date
5. 1400g Water
6. 2x Tsp Salt
7. 2-3 Tbsp Barley
8. A Pot + Cooking Spoon

Optional
1x piece Chinese Wakame Seaweed
2x Red Dates


Directions:
1. Bring Pot of 700g water to boil. Place Pork Ribs in boiled water to Blanch Meat for about 10mins. Discard water, Rinse the Meat.
2. Add 1400g Water, Pork Ribs, Old Cucumber, Dried Cuttlefish, Honey Date, Salt, and Barley, cook at the boiling temperature.
3. Boil, simmer and cover for at least 120mins.
4. Once it's ready, Serve Hot.


The future way to cook by Thermomix:

What to prepare?
1. 150g Pork Ribs
2. 400g Old Cucumber
3. 1x piece Dried Cuttlefish
4. 1x Honey Dates
5. 1400g Water
6. 2x Tsp Salt
7. 2-3 Tbsp Barley
8. Thermomix + Mixing Bowl + Spatula

Optional
1x piece Chinese Wakame Seaweed
2x Red Dates

Directions:
1. Place Pork Ribs and 700g water into Mixing Bowl to Blanch Meat 8mins, 110 degrees, reverse speed 0.5. Discard water, Rinse the Meat.
2. Add 1400g Water, Pork Ribs, Old Cucumber, Dried Cuttlefish, Honey Date, Salt, and Barley, Cover with Lid and set to 10 minutes, 105 degrees, Reverse Spoon to 0.5
3. Once it is ready, set to 65 minutes, 90 degrees, Reverse Spoon to 0.5
4. Once it's ready, you may Serve Hot.

A Great way to save is to cook at home!

Thermomix cooking style: 83mins
